Sealed concrete floors have surged in popularity as a flooring trend for both commercial and residential spaces. They boast not only aesthetic appeal but also durability, longevity, affordability, environmental friendliness, and versatility for various applications, including businesses, warehouses, retail spaces, homes, restaurants, breweries, and art galleries. The desired finish of sealed concrete can vary from a subtle low sheen to a striking high gloss resembling glass.

Concrete Grind and Seal is the process of diamond grinding to prepare and cleanse your existing concrete floor, removing the top layer to reveal a clean, light aggregate surface. Following this, we either seal the concrete with a clear UV stable sealer or apply a concrete dye. The result is a floor that resembles a concrete polish but at a more competitive price point. In many cases, it's also as durable and easy to clean.

Benefits of Concrete Grind and Seal

With Concrete Grind and Seal, you can expect a concrete surface that is well-protected and meets your project’s needs. When properly sealed your concrete surfaces can withstand various types of damage and wear and tear, ensuring the longevity and durability of your concrete floors.

Durable

Sealed concrete floors are highly durable and can withstand heavy foot traffic, impact, and abrasion. They are resistant to stains, chemicals, moisture, and other types of damage, making them ideal for both commercial and residential spaces.

Long-Lasting

Concrete sealer helps extend the lifespan of the flooring by providing a protective barrier. Sealing concrete floors helps prevent cracks, spalling, and deterioration, ensuring that the floors maintain their appearance and functionality for an extended period.

Versatility

Sealed concrete floors offer versatility in terms of design options. Various sealers are available in different finishes, including matte, satin, or high gloss, and allow you to achieve the desired aesthetic for your space. Choose from a range of colors, concrete stain/dye, and decorative treatments to customize the appearance of the floor.

Low Maintenance

Sealed concrete floors are relatively low maintenance compared to other flooring options. The sealed concrete surface is easy to clean and requires minimal effort for routine maintenance. It resists stains and can be easily wiped or mopped, making it a convenient choice for busy commercial spaces or homes with high foot traffic.

Grind and Seal Installation Process

Grind and sealed concrete floors are exactly like their name – the process involves grinding the concrete surface and then sealing it with a topical sealer. Here are some of the steps we follow when restoring your concrete floors.

  1. The process starts by grinding the concrete with mechanical concrete floor grinders to remove any contaminants from the existing slab.

  2. Next, cracks and divots in the floor are patched with patching material as necessary.
  3. After we grind again with finer diamonds to smooth the floor further, If the concrete is soft, porous or free of contaminants, a second pass may not be necessary.
  4. Afterwards, the surface is properly cleaned.
  5. If desired, a stain color can be added to your grind and sealed concrete floor at this step. Choose from a wide variety of colors, from neutral, earth tones to colorful concrete dyes.
  6. Lastly, your sealed concrete floor is sealed with a topical sealer. Depending on your floor goals, requirements, and your space, we will recommend the best type of sealer for your project.
